AND THE TOTAL IS ...
From 6;00 p.m. February 28 to 6:00 a.m. on March 1, 2015 the students of the Manheim Township High School held their Fifth Annual Mini-THON to benefit the Four Diamonds Fund at the Penn State Hershey Children's Hospital in the Fight to Conquer Childhood Cancer. Donations to the Fund are used to provide emotional and financial support for families battling pediatric cancer and to fund cancer research. More than 400 students attended the event. Last year, $80,211 was raised. This year, $107,250 was raised! In excess of $292,699 has been raised over the past five years.
The Manheim Township Leo Club asked the Manheim Township Lions Club to serve a 6:00 a.m. pancake breakfast for those who attended. We cheerfully did so arriving at 3:00 a.m. It was well worth getting up early as the students seemed to enjoy the breakfast.
This link will take you to a slideshow of the breakfast.
