Clubs Donate Curriculum Materials to the Manheim Township School District

2015 marks the twelfth year that the Manheim Township Lions Club in partnership with the Manheim Township Leo Club and Lions District 14-D has donated Lion’s Quest curriculum materials to the Manheim Township School District. The Manheim Township Leo Club Seniors would have been in the first grade when this program was first introduced. Lions Quest is a life skills and drug prevention program of Lions Clubs International Foundation, which has been implemented in more than 50 countries around the world.

The most widely used of the three Lions Quest programs, Skills for Adolescence, is taught as part of the sixth grade curriculum. This program helps youth, parents and teachers cope with the physical, emotional and social challenges of the early adolescent years. It is a comprehensive life skills and drug prevention curriculum that emphasizes character development, communication, decision making, and service-learning guiding young people toward healthy choices and a drug, alcohol and violence-free lifestyle.
