1,005 Hours of Community Service

Chix Corn Soup

During the months of July and August, Manheim Township Lions Club members and their partners in service performed 751 hours of service to the Neffsville Community Fire Company in support of their October 2013 Soup and Food Sale. During this period 259 bushels of corn was husked, cooked and cut yielding 2,730 pounds of frozen corn. 500 pounds of chicken were processed.

During October we prepared an additional 350 pounds of chicken and 100 pounds of beef. 400 gallons of chicken corn soup and 80 gallons of beef vegetable soup were made. 137 pies were baked, 128 pounds of chicken salad was made and 95 dozen eggs were processed. 254 additional hours of service were expended during October in preparation for the sale.
